The Foodborne Illness Reporter can speed up the process in reporting an illness caused by any food/products that the user consumes. Privacy: All individually identifying information reported to the Hawaii Department of Health is confidential and protected by law. HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)-compliant surveillance information is shared routinely with the CDC as part of the Nationally Notifiable Diseases Surveillance and with public health partners and practitioners throughout the state. Hawaii is committed to the meaningful use (http://hawaii.gov/health/DIB/meaningfuluse.html) of electronic disease surveillance data, including contributing to the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and the Disease Investigation and Immunization Branches Hawaii Epi. Bulletin quarterly.
